The Misconception about Obama's Tax Plan
this is very simple.

if you make less than $250,000 a year - your taxes will not go up

if you make more than $250,000 a year - your tax rate will be rolled back to the rates they were under the Clinton Administration - and the last time I checked, the economy under Clinton was pretty damn good

Moreover, under an Obama Administration your entire income will not be taxed under the Clinton rate - just the money over $250,000.  So if you make $300,000 a year - only the last $50,000 will be taxed at the "Clinton Rate"

He's not raising taxes higher than what Clinton did.

He's not raising taxes if you are poor or in the middle class.

He's not giving tax breaks to oil companies that have multi billion dollar profits per quarter - companies that don't need them and whose executives wallet gets fatter and fatter by the hour.

But didn't you know he changed churches, Chad!

Mel, here is what I experienced where I lived in CO-expansion and progress in a way that really didn't help "regular" people (unless you were into construction), farmers vs. those in favor of this progress, local hunters vs. out-of-state hunters, mostly from TX(sorry Chad), and regulations vs. migrant workers. In conversations it would usually come down to the "average joe" in contention with the "Telluride/CA idiots".

Skeeter...depends on what part of Colo you live in - thats def true in N. Colorado but not here in the Denver area.

Chad...if Obama wasn't a citizen - don't you think McCain would have brought it up in every freaking debate?

I don't think he'd want to win by default.  He want's to win because he's the better man for the job.

Ratting Obama out like that would make him look paranoid.  I sure as hell wouldn't take that route if i were him.

Mel, apparently it's true for more people than that because I lived on the southwest slope-south of Grand Junction. I only knew one person that liked going to Denver, everyone else hated it's existence. I'm sure it's nice, but small town suffer from the decisions made by big cities. They are like different planets but cities are where the decisions are cookie-cutter made.

Same with politicians-no matter what they say, most of them haven't had to struggle very long or hard for the things they want or need and because of this CANNOT represent me or the huge demographic that I am a part of. I'm not talking about struggling for a place in society, or for their identity or crap like that either.

Btw, we had an mock election for parent/teacher conferences and McCain won from both the kids and parents. The kids also voted on "Plain M&M's and Reading" or "Peanut M&M's and Math" I haven't gotten the results from that yet.

Quote from skeeter
"How old were you during the "Clinton Administration"? Did you even have a job yet? My dad was against Clinton and he is a hard working, bill paying man. Everyone I knew that WAS for Clinton (and ADULTS) were lazy people that had food stamps. I have noticed that alot of blogs are blaming this nice recession on the Mr. Wonderful Bill and his theory of "if we make it easy for everyone to buy stuff they can't afford, the economy will go up"."

I think the most significant enigma to the entire voting process is the overwhelming population of really stupid people, like you.

How so? All I did was ask a couple of questions and make some observations.

Nothing like being criticized by a guy with a fake pic from the amazing "country" of Canada. Have a nice day!
